• @maique LOL that is quite true, I attended Web Summit and those few days absolutely felt like when I lived in San Francisco again.

  • @maique thank you, that could be a good spot for some landscape or night photography!

  • @maique looks like a lovely spot. Must be quite peaceful and quiet

  • @maique Lovely photos as always, and looks like you're all having a great time down in the Algarve!

  • @maique brilliant, thanks, I'll check them out! Muito obrigado

  • @maique Beautiful. Her scarf matches the colour of the sky! Almost looks like a double exposure photo, but that's just reflections on glass isn't it?

  • @Portufraise That is wonderful, thank you for sharing that. One can never be prepared for the challenges you had to go through, but it's lovely to hear that with patience and love, it's all starting to come together

  • @khurtwilliams Yup, I had the Audioengine on my wishlist for a LONG time, I just love how they look and getting pretty good reviews, but once I got down to shopping around, the Kanto's kept coming up as a viable alternative (as well as the Vanatoo Zero), and there are anecdotes that Audioengine's customer support in Europe isn't as good as the US, so I went with Kanto instead.

  • @jemostrom that's a beautiful composition. Love it

  • @Miraz Oh no, sorry for your loss 😭

  • @maique it's nice to just get out for some sun and fresh air! 🛵

  • @sergio_101 I don't really know. I think there are better protocols/extensions to bluetooth for better quality audio, but I use an iPhone so supports AAC only, no APTX so it's not going to matter or improve things much. We have a few HomePods mini around the house so for wireless audio that does the job, these desktop speakers for when I'm working or gaming.

  • @khurtwilliams they are active speakers so built-in amp, and a DAC as well. Connected to my Mac/PC over USB

  • @khurtwilliams No we didn't, was already out of warranty and we didn't really have time to deal with a RMA/exchange process before the international move, so we just threw it out in the e-waste, which is a bit of a shame really.

  • @sergio_101 Do it, I'm loving them so far. I had my eyes on the AudioEngine A2+ at first but I keep seeing people suggest the Kanto's instead, which are cheaper but are just as good, if not better. No bluetooth but I don't care about that, and it has the option of adding a sub later on.

  • @mjdescy Had a pair of Bose Companion's a few years ago, which broke and became unusable so got rid of them in the move. Hadn't had desktop speakers (other than a HomePod, which isn't stereo) until now, after over a year. Loving them so far, the small footprint doesn't take up too much space on my cluttered desk, and the sound is pretty good for the size. A bit weak on the low end, which I already knew about from the reviews. Thought I'd get the pair first and see how it goes before I decide if I need a subwoofer. It has a built-in amp and DAC, which subjectively sounds better than the DAC in my Elgato Thunderbolt 3 dock.

  • @khurtwilliams I'd been using headphones all this while after the last set of Bose Companion speakers broke (loud pop and sound cut-off at certain volumes)

  • @odd Yeah, smaller than they look in most pictures, and love the clean lines

  • @maique glad to hear you're feeling better!

  • @odd I kinda love that. The gradients are organic and world hard to achieve the same effect with digital tools

  • @maique thank you!

  • @odd Wooloomooloo in Sydney never fails to amuse me

  • @maique oh no! 🦠 Probably not a surprise given the last few days and almost everyone else in your family getting it. Still, hope you get better soon!

  • @Gaby I love my OMD EM-10, and when paired with the pancake 14-42mm lens it's almost like a point and shoot that it's more discreet and people tend not to notice it as a serious camera.

  • @renevanbelzen definitely! it only took him 10 years to get to this stage (or maybe he's just feeling cold)
